Layout Margins and Text Spacing Controls

Modified on: Fri, 9 Oct, 2026 at 5:13 AM

Layout margins and text spacing controls help you fine-tune spacing in HighLevel’s Email Builder. Section margins control vertical space outside a section, while Typography Settings control spacing above and below supported text styles. These controls give you more flexibility when adjusting email layouts. This guide explains how to configure both settings in the current Email Builder.

What are Layout Margins and Text Spacing Controls?

Layout margins and text spacing are separate controls for managing space within an email design.

Margin controls the vertical space outside a supported section. In the current section editor, you can adjust the Top and Bottom Margin values in pixels.

Typography Settings control the space above and below supported paragraph and heading styles. Each supported text style can be enabled individually and configured with separate Top Spacing and Bottom Spacing values.

Key Benefits of Layout Margins and Text Spacing

These controls let you adjust spacing without relying on one method for every layout requirement.

  • Section-Level Spacing: Adjust Top and Bottom Margin values for supported email sections.

  • Text Style Spacing: Configure spacing above and below Paragraph and Heading styles.

  • Flexible Input Options: Adjust section Margin with a slider, direct pixel entry, or available presets.

  • Consistent Typography Controls: Apply repeatable pixel values to supported text styles.

  • Multiple Spacing Methods: Use Margin, Padding, or Spacer based on the layout you need.

Margin vs. Padding vs. Spacer

Margin, Padding, and Spacer can all create separation in an email layout, but they affect the design differently.

ControlUse
MarginAdds vertical space outside a supported section.
PaddingAdds space inside a supported element or section.
SpacerInserts a separate spacing element into the email layout.
