Opportunities are pivotal in managing potential sales within GoHighLevel. This guide walks you through how to create opportunities, enabling you to track prospects from first contact to closed deal.

What Are Opportunities?


An Opportunity is a single potential sale tracked inside HighLevel. It bundles the contact, pipeline, stage, estimated value, and assigned owner so you can follow the deal from first conversation to its final outcome.

How to Create Opportunities


Step 1: Accessing the Opportunities Module


  1. Log in to your HighLevel sub-account.

  2. Click on the Opportunities tab.

  3. Click the + Add Opportunity button at the top right.



Step 2: Filling in Contact & Opportunity Information


  1. Select a Primary Contact from your list of saved contacts.

  2. Email and phone, or enter manually if not available.



Step 3: Assigning Pipeline, Stage, and Status


  1. Add a custom Opportunity Name or keep the default contact name.

  2. Select the Pipeline to add the opportunity to.

  3. Choose the appropriate Pipeline Stage.

  4. Set the Opportunity Status:

    • Open
    • Lost
    • Won
    • Abandon

  5. Enter the Opportunity Value.



Step 4: Adding Owner, Team Members and Additional Details


  1. Assign an Owner to the opportunity.

  2. Add Followers to the opportunity. (You can add multiple followers)

  3. Fill in Additional Fields (as needed):

    1. Business Name

    2. Opportunity Source

    3. Tags

    4. Task Type

    5. Favorite Pet

    6. Efficiency Rating

    7. Task Difficulty

    8. Time Tracked




Step 5: Finalizing the Opportunity


  1. Click Add/Manage Fields to manage custom fields.

  2. Click the Create button to save the opportunity.

  3. Verify the new opportunity in your pipeline.

Q: Can I assign an opportunity to someone later?

Yes. Open the opportunity card, select a new Owner, and click Save.


Q: Can I change the opportunity value after creation?

Absolutely. Edit the Opportunity Value field in the Edit Drawer and save.

Q: Can I duplicate an existing opportunity?

Not at this time. You’ll need to create a new opportunity and copy‑over any relevant details manually.


Q: What happens if I delete a contact linked to an opportunity?

The opportunity remains, but the contact link breaks. Re‑associate a new contact or restore the original contact to maintain context.


Q: How do I move an opportunity to a different stage after creation?

Drag the opportunity card to the desired stage column on the Opportunities board, or open the Edit Drawer and choose a new Stage from the dropdown.


Q:Can I change the primary contact on an existing opportunity?

Yes. Open the Edit Drawer, remove the current primary contact, add the new contact, and mark it as Primary before saving.
