What is Conditional Logic in Forms

The Conditional Logic feature in our Form Builder allows you to automate actions in your forms based on user interactions. You can use multiple conditions, choose from diverse operations, and have the flexibility to edit them as you see fit. You have the power to trigger actions like displaying custom messages, redirecting to specific URLs, or disqualifying leads for a tailored user experience. This feature empowers you to make your forms smarter and more dynamic.

Key Benefits of Conditional Logic in Forms

Using conditional logic in your forms provides several advantages:

  • Personalized Experiences – Show tailored messages or redirects based on how someone answers, making interactions more relevant.

  • Automatic Lead Qualification – Instantly filter out unqualified leads so your team spends time only on the right prospects.

  • Streamlined Workflows – Route respondents to booking pages, thank-you messages, or disqualification notices without manual review.

  • Improved Conversion Rates – By guiding qualified leads directly to the next step, you reduce drop-off and keep momentum high.

  • Flexible Setup – Create multiple rules in the same form to handle different scenarios, all from a single form submission.

How to Set Up Conditional Logic in Forms

You can add conditional rules directly within the Form Builder. Follow these steps:

Open Conditional Logic

  • In the form editor, click the Conditional Logic icon in the top bar.

  • A new panel will open where you can add and manage rules.

Choose an Action

Select what should happen if the conditions are met:

  • Redirect to URL – send users to a webpage.
  • Display custom message – show a personalized message.
  • Disqualify lead – block unqualified submissions.
  • Show/Hide fields – adjust which form fields appear dynamically.

Set Your Conditions

Form Fields

Define the rules using form fields (e.g., Phone, Email, Date of Birth). Choose an operator such as is equal to, before, contains, or is empty. Enter the value to compare against.

Combine multiple conditions with AND or OR.

You can add as many "AND" and "OR" condition as you want. Switching between ‘AND’ and ‘OR’ automatically updates all operations accordingly.

Whether you’re dealing with standard or custom fields, we’ve got operations for every data type

  • Single Line
  • Multi Line
  • Numeric
  • Monetary
  • Phone
  • Date Picker
  • Dropdown (Single)
  • Radio Select

Note:

1. Currently, checkbox and multi select is not supported in conditional logic.

2. Conditional logic forms are not compatible with calendars at this point.

Customize the Outcome

For a redirect, enter the target URL.

Custom Message

For a message, type your text using the editor.

Show/Hide

For show/hide rules, select which fields to display or hide.

Save the Rule

  • Once you’ve configured the logic, click Save.

  • Conditions are executed in top-down order, so review the list carefully if you set up multiple rules.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I apply conditional logic to multiple dropdown or radio questions at once?

Yes. You can add conditions across different fields, such as one dropdown and one radio select. However, all conditions in a logic block must follow the same “AND” or “OR” setting. You cannot mix the two within a single block.

Q: Can I group multiple conditions together with both AND and OR?

No. Currently, conditions cannot be grouped into mixed sets. For example, you cannot set a rule like (Answer is a OR b) AND (Answer is 1 OR 2 OR 3). When you switch between “AND” and “OR,” the change applies to all conditions in that logic block.

Q: Can I create multiple logic blocks in the same form?

Yes. You can set up multiple conditional logic rules within the same form. Each rule is evaluated independently, so you can create separate outcomes for different scenarios (for example, one rule to redirect users, another to disqualify leads, and another to display a message).

Q: Can I prioritize which condition runs first if multiple conditions are true?

No. All active conditions are checked when the form is submitted. If more than one condition is met, the platform follows the order of available actions (e.g., redirect, message, disqualification). At this time, there is no way to assign priority or ranking to specific conditions.
