Customizing Your Dashboard with Services & Rentals Widgets

Learn how to add, configure, and use Services & Rentals reporting widgets to track revenue, bookings, staff performance, and inventory health directly in your HighLevel dashboard.
What You'll Learn

This guide walks you through customizing your dashboard with Services and Rentals reporting widgets. You'll learn how to access these widgets from your dashboard editor, configure them for your business needs, and use them to turn booking data into actionable insights.

Whether you run a service-based business tracking staff revenue or a rental operation managing inventory, these widgets help you monitor performance without exporting data or switching between multiple tools.

Before You Begin

Services & Rentals widgets are only available when the corresponding scheduling types are enabled in Calendar Settings. If you don't see these widgets in your dashboard editor, check that Services and/or Rentals are enabled for your sub-account. See Section 4 below for detailed steps.

1

What is Customizing Dashboard with Widgets

Dashboard customization in HighLevel lets you build personalized reporting views by adding, arranging, and configuring widgets that display real-time data from your business operations. Widgets are individual data visualizations—charts, tables, numbers, or lists—that you can place on your dashboard to monitor key metrics without navigating through multiple screens or exporting reports.

When you customize your dashboard, you choose which widgets to display, how they're visualized (bar chart, donut chart, table, etc.), and what data they show by applying filters like date range, staff member, location, or service type. This gives you complete control over what information appears on your dashboard and how it's presented.

What Are Services & Rentals Widgets?

Services and Rentals widgets are specialized reporting components designed to track booking performance for two distinct scheduling types in HighLevel's Calendars module:

Services Widgets

Services widgets focus on service-based appointments—such as consultations, treatments, classes, or any bookable service delivered by your team. These widgets help you track revenue by service type, monitor staff performance, analyze discount usage, and identify your top-performing offerings. They're ideal for businesses like salons, clinics, consulting firms, fitness studios, and professional services.

Rentals Widgets

Rentals widgets are built for businesses that rent out assets, equipment, vehicles, properties, or spaces. These widgets provide visibility into booking volume, revenue, inventory status, and operational health. You can track active rentals, identify overdue returns, monitor unconfirmed bookings, and analyze which listings generate the most revenue. They're perfect for equipment rental companies, property managers, vehicle rental services, and event space providers.

Both widget types live under the Appointments category in your dashboard editor and are visually distinguished by their icons—Services widgets display a purple wrench icon, while Rentals widgets show a gold key icon.

Key Benefits of Services and Rentals Widgets

Centralized Performance Monitoring

Instead of navigating between Calendars, Payments, and Contacts to piece together booking performance, Services and Rentals widgets consolidate all critical metrics in one view. Monitor revenue trends, staff productivity, inventory utilization, and customer booking patterns from a single dashboard, eliminating the need to export reports or switch between multiple tools.

Real-Time Operational Insights

These widgets update in real time, giving you immediate visibility into what's happening in your business right now. Track active rentals currently in progress, identify overdue returns before they become costly, spot unconfirmed bookings that need follow-up, and see which staff members are generating the most revenue today. This real-time visibility enables faster decision-making and proactive issue resolution.

Customizable for Different Roles

With flexible filtering by staff, location, service, listing, and date range, you can create role-specific dashboards tailored to different audiences. Build an executive dashboard showing total revenue across all locations, a manager view filtered to a single branch, or individual staff dashboards displaying only their personal bookings and earnings. Each team member sees exactly the metrics that matter to their role.

Data-Driven Revenue Optimization

Services and Rentals widgets help you identify revenue opportunities and operational inefficiencies. Discover which services or rental listings drive the most revenue, analyze the impact of coupon codes and discounts on bookings, track cancelled appointment revenue to refine your confirmation workflows, and benchmark performance across locations or staff members. These insights empower you to make informed pricing, staffing, and inventory decisions that directly impact profitability.

Customizing Service Appointment Widgets

Service Appointment widgets help you track revenue, staff performance, and discount usage for service-based bookings. These widgets draw from the Services scheduling type in Calendars, keeping them separate from traditional Meetings and Rentals.

When you add a Service widget to your dashboard, you can configure its chart type (number, bar, donut, table, etc.) and apply filters by date range, staff, location, service, or category. This lets you create focused views for different audiences—such as an owner's revenue overview or a staff member's individual performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do I find Services & Rentals widgets in the widget library?
They are located under the Appointments category in the widget library. Scroll through the list and look for widgets with purple wrench icons (Services) or gold key icons (Rentals) to identify them.
Q: Why did my appointment count numbers change?
Standard Appointment Count widgets now show only meeting appointments. Service and rental bookings have their own dedicated count widgets grouped with Services and Rentals widgets, preventing mixing of different booking types.
Q: Do I need to enable anything to see these widgets?
Yes. The sub-account must have Services and/or Rentals enabled in Calendar Settings. If a module is turned off, its corresponding widgets and filters will not appear in your dashboard editor or Custom Reports builder.
Q: Can I filter these widgets by staff, location, or listing?
Yes. For Services widgets, you can filter by staff, service, category, and location. For Rentals widgets, you can filter by listing, category, status, and more, depending on the widget.
Q: Can I use Dashboard Summary AI with these widgets?
Yes. Once on a dashboard that includes Services & Rentals widgets, Dashboard Summary AI can provide narrative insights and respond to follow-up questions about the visible metrics, just as it does with other widget types.
Q: How are Total Revenue and Average Order Value calculated for deposits in Rentals?
For Rentals, Total Revenue (Excluding Deposits) explicitly excludes security deposits from revenue, while deposits are reported separately in Security Deposit Collected. Average Order Value uses the revenue metric defined for that widget.
Q: Can I clone these widgets between sub-accounts?
You can clone entire dashboards or use dashboard templates to distribute preconfigured views to multiple sub-accounts. When Services/Rentals are enabled in the target sub-account, the cloned widgets will automatically pull that location's data.
Q: How do these widgets relate to the Rentals Calendar View?
Rentals widgets provide reporting-friendly summaries of the same booking data you see in the Rentals Calendar View. While the calendar is designed for scheduling and day-to-day operations, the widgets focus on analytics, trends, and performance tracking across time periods.
