Snapshot Management

Load Imported Snapshots into Existing Sub-Accounts

Load shared snapshots directly into your sub-accounts, track deployment history, and manage snapshot restrictions — all from the Imported Snapshots tab.
What You'll Learn

HighLevel has enhanced the Imported Snapshots experience to give you centralized control over loading snapshots into your existing sub-accounts. You can load snapshots directly from the Imported Snapshots tab without navigating into individual sub-accounts first.

This article explains how to use the new Load modal, view complete snapshot deployment history, and understand snapshot restrictions when working with shared snapshots.

1

What is the Imported Snapshots Load Feature?

The Imported Snapshots Load feature is an enhanced snapshot management capability that allows you to load shared snapshots directly into your existing sub-accounts from a centralized location. When another agency shares a snapshot with you, you can deploy that snapshot's assets and configurations into any of your sub-accounts without needing to navigate into each sub-account individually.

This feature introduces a new Load modal that appears in the Imported Snapshots tab, giving you a streamlined workflow for snapshot deployment across your agency. Each snapshot also includes a View History tab that tracks every load operation, showing which sub-accounts received the snapshot and which specific assets were deployed.

For agencies that share snapshots with restrictions, the Load feature respects those limitations by only allowing loads into the sub-accounts specified by the sharing agency.

2

Key Benefits

The enhanced Imported Snapshots experience delivers significant time savings and operational visibility for agencies managing multiple sub-accounts.

Centralized Snapshot Loading — Deploy imported snapshots into any existing sub-account directly from the Imported Snapshots tab without navigating into individual sub-accounts first.
Complete Deployment Tracking — View the full load history for every imported snapshot, including which sub-accounts received it and which assets were deployed in each load.
Faster Workflow — Eliminate the need to switch between sub-accounts when deploying the same snapshot to multiple locations in your agency.
Transparency and Accountability — Instantly identify which sub-accounts have received a particular snapshot configuration, making it easier to manage standardized setups across your agency.
Controlled Access — When snapshots are shared with restrictions, you can only load them into the sub-accounts approved by the sharing agency, ensuring proper usage and compliance.

What's Included in This Update

This enhancement introduces three major components that transform how you work with imported snapshots.

Component 1
Load Modal for Imported Snapshots

A new Load modal appears on every snapshot in your Imported Snapshots tab. This modal allows you to select any existing sub-account in your agency and load the snapshot directly into it. You no longer need to open the sub-account separately before deploying the snapshot.

Component 2
View History Tab

Every imported snapshot includes a View History tab that displays the complete load trail. You can see every past load operation, which sub-accounts were included in each load, and the specific assets that were deployed to each sub-account. This provides full transparency and makes it easy to audit snapshot deployments across your agency.

Component 3
Shared Snapshot Restrictions

When an agency shares a snapshot with you and restricts it to specific sub-accounts, the Load modal respects those restrictions. You can only load the snapshot into the sub-accounts approved by the sharing agency. This ensures proper usage and prevents unauthorized deployment of restricted snapshot configurations.

4

How to Load an Imported Snapshot

Follow these steps to load an imported snapshot into any existing sub-account from the Imported Snapshots tab.

Step 1
Navigate to the Imported Snapshots Tab

Go to your agency settings and open the Imported Snapshots tab. You will see a list of all snapshots that have been shared with your agency.

Step 2
Select the Snapshot You Want to Load

Locate the imported snapshot you want to deploy and click the Load option.

Step 3
Choose Your Destination Sub-Accounts

The Load modal will appear with a list of your existing sub-accounts. Select the sub-account(s) where you want to load the snapshot.

If the snapshot has restrictions, only approved sub-accounts will be available for selection.

Step 4
Complete the Load Process

After selecting your destination sub-accounts, confirm your selection and proceed with the load. The snapshot will be deployed to the selected sub-accounts. You can track the progress through the modal's status indicator.

Pro Tip

You can load the same snapshot into multiple sub-accounts in a single operation by selecting multiple destinations in the Load modal.

5

How to View Snapshot Load History

The View History tab provides complete visibility into every load operation for an imported snapshot.

Step 1
Open the View History Tab

From the Imported Snapshots tab, locate the snapshot you want to review. Click the View History option or menu item associated with that snapshot.

Step 2
Review Past Load Operations

The View History tab displays a chronological list of every load operation performed with that snapshot, including timestamps and version information.

Step 3
Identify Target Sub-Accounts

For each load operation, you can see the complete list of sub-accounts that received the snapshot during that load.

Step 4
View Deployed Assets

Expand any load operation to see the specific assets that were deployed to each sub-account, giving you full transparency into what was included in each snapshot deployment.

6

Understanding Shared Snapshot Restrictions

When an agency shares a snapshot with your agency, they can choose to restrict that snapshot to specific sub-accounts. This means you can only load the snapshot into the sub-accounts that the sharing agency has approved.

When you attempt to load a restricted snapshot, the Load modal will only display sub-accounts that are authorized for that snapshot. Other sub-accounts in your agency will be unavailable for selection.

This restriction mechanism ensures that snapshot configurations are deployed only to appropriate sub-accounts, maintaining control and compliance with the sharing agency's intended usage.

Important

If you need to load a restricted snapshot into a sub-account that is not currently authorized, you must contact the agency that shared the snapshot with you to request access for additional sub-accounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I load the same imported snapshot into multiple sub-accounts at once?
Yes. The Load modal allows you to select multiple destination sub-accounts in a single operation, making it easy to deploy the same snapshot configuration across multiple locations in your agency.
Q: What happens if I try to load a snapshot into a sub-account that already has some of the same assets?
HighLevel handles conflicts during the load process. The system typically provides options to overwrite existing assets or skip them. Future improvements to dependency handling will make conflict resolution even more seamless.
Q: How do I know which sub-accounts a snapshot has already been loaded into?
Open the View History tab for that snapshot. It displays every past load operation, including the complete list of sub-accounts that received the snapshot in each deployment.
Q: Can I see which specific assets were included in a previous snapshot load?
Yes. The View History tab provides a detailed breakdown of assets deployed to each sub-account for every load operation, giving you full transparency into snapshot deployment details.
Q: What does it mean when a snapshot is "limited to specific sub-accounts"?
This means the agency that shared the snapshot with you has restricted it to specific sub-accounts in your agency. You can only load the snapshot into those authorized sub-accounts. If you need access for additional sub-accounts, contact the sharing agency to request expanded permissions.
Q: Do I still need to navigate into a sub-account before loading an imported snapshot?
No. The new Load modal eliminates this requirement. You can load an imported snapshot directly from the Imported Snapshots tab into any existing sub-account without opening that sub-account separately first.
Q: Will there be future improvements to snapshot loading?
Yes. HighLevel continues to invest in snapshot lifecycle management improvements. Upcoming enhancements will focus on better dependency handling to prevent broken or missing assets at destination sub-accounts during the load process.
Q: How do I provide feedback on the new Load modal or View History tab?
HighLevel welcomes your feedback on these features. You can submit feedback through your HighLevel support channels or contact your account representative directly to share your experience and suggestions.
